Hello people and welcome to my wiki: How to Fiberglass.

This winter I accidently drove into a big pile of snow and of course ice = a big crack in my cars front bumper.

So what to do?  Buy a new one? I don’t think so, the cars from 1983. So I figured out that I would try to

patch it up using fiberglass, hence the name of the wiki How to Fiberglass

Well first I had to sand it down and remove the paint, not a problem. Just use some regular sanding paper

from the local hardware store. Start with some rough paper and work your way down to the fine stuff,

leaving the surface nice and smooth.

When you’re at your hardware store don’t forget to pick up a fiberglass repair kit.

Now it’s time to apply a thin layer of resin, then apply a piece of fiberglass cloth. (You might want to use

several smaller pieces and let them overlap each other to strengthen the final product)

When you have applied the fiberglass cloth add another layer of resin, just enough to soak the cloth, (not

too much and then again not too little) continue to you have at least three layers of fiberglass.

Now you just have to let it harden up, read the instruction on the fiberglass repair kit for the exact time.

After the fiberglass is finished hardening up, it’s time to apply some filler, let it dry and then start sanding it

down until it’s totally smooth.

Then all you have to do is start painting, and you should have an almost new bumper

Hope that you could use this small guide.
